The 8th grade Career Development class experienced the interview process. Students had to complete a resume, study their job, and dress for success.

Mrs. Palmer's Career Development class completed their pizza box project. The pizza box project is a 3D image of their future career. Students had to research the education needed, salary, work schedule, and duties for the job they chose. Thank you Pizza Pro for providing the pizza boxes.

UPDATE:
The Lamar Fire Department has given the “all clear” and all students at Lamar Middle School have returned to class. Thanks again to all who assisted in ensuring the safety of all students and staff.

Lamar Parents and Community Members,
At approximately 1:30 PM the Lamar Middle School was evacuated due to an electrical issue within a rooftop HVAC unit. The fire department was called and arrived within minutes. Fire Department and LSD maintenance crews are currently assessing the situation. All students are safe and accounted for. A special thanks to the LMS administration, faculty, staff, SROs, and the Lamar Fire Department for their quick response in ensuring the safety of our students.

Miss Mac's AP World History students recently participated in a gallery walk exploring their classmates' "Autopsy of an Empire" posters. In this project, students researched the achievements of these early modern empires and analyzed the causes of their eventual decline.

The Lamar Public School's annual Holiday Band Concert is December 15th, at 2pm in the High School Cafeteria. Beginner band, 8th grade Band, and the High School Band will perform our theme "Christmas Around the World". We hope to see you there!

Some of our 11th and 12th grade GT students recently had the amazing opportunity to tour the University of Arkansas! It was a fantastic experience exploring the campus, learning about academic programs, and envisioning their future possibilities. We’re so proud of these ambitious students as they take steps toward their dreams!

Today, we celebrate Substitute Teacher Appreciation Day and the incredible individuals who step in and keep our classrooms running smoothly. 🌟 Whether it's sharing their knowledge, offering a helping hand, or simply bringing a smile to our students' faces, our substitutes go above and beyond every day. Your adaptability, dedication, and care make such a difference in the lives of our students and staff. We couldn’t do it without you—thank you for all that you do to keep our school community strong and thriving!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Making Lamar Safer, One Door at a Time!
We are incredibly proud of three innovative East students, Jason Easterling, Autumn Conklin, and Kyren Broomfield who identified a campus security need and took action! These outstanding students developed "Project Peephole" to enhance classroom safety by installing peepholes in our classroom doors.
Not only did they identify the need, but they also professionally presented their solution to both our administrative team and school board. Their presentation was so impressive that supplies were immediately approved!
This is what student leadership looks like - seeing a problem, creating a solution, and making our school community safer for everyone. Way to go, Warriors!
Keep an eye on our EAST facebook page for more information and updates on the project!
