The Lamar School District has been made aware of false information being shared concerning a middle school student and a gun on campus. To be clear, at no time did a student have a gun on their person or on campus. These rumors are false. Again, we appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we work together to ensure the safety and security of our schools.

The Lamar School District continues to monitor and take steps to ensure student and staff safety during this time of circulating social media threats. While these threats are not specific to Lamar Schools, and none of the threats have been deemed credible, we do take them seriously.
We continue to work with local law enforcement and will again have additional officers on campus throughout the day Friday for added security in and around our schools.
