Kindergarten and Elementary Route

If you are dropping off or picking up a kindergarten student(s) AND a student(s) in grades 1-4, please use the route outlined on this map. This combined procedure helps minimize congestion and helps ensure safety for all. Click the link below to view the map and detailed instructions.

Dear Families,

At Lamar Elementary, student safety is always our top priority. To help ensure a smooth and secure dismissal process, we are introducing a new car tag system for all families who pick up students by car in the afternoon.

Every car in the pick-up line will need to display a school-issued name tag on the front dashboard. This will help staff quickly and safely match each student with the correct guardian.

Here's how it works:

• Name tags will be sent home at open house, August 7th.

• For those who cannot attend that evening, we will send these home with your student on the first day (August 11th)

• Please display the tag on your dashboard each afternoon.

• If someone else is picking up your child, they will need to have the name tag.

• 2 Copies of the tag will be sent for each child. 

What if I forget or don’t have a car tag?

For the safety of all students, car tags are required. If a name tag is not shown, we kindly ask that you park and come into the front office with your photo ID to check out your child. This extra step is to ensure every student goes home safely with the right adult.

Also, to streamline our transportation routes, 1st through 4th grade students will now be dropped off AND picked up in the front of the elementary building using the same route for morning and afternoon. A map of the route has been provided on the back of this letter. Kindergarten students will continue to be dropped off and picked up in front of the kindergarten building using the same route as last year. This route is also displayed on the back.
