Lamar School District Shows Significant Growth in 2026 School Letter Grades

Lamar School District is proud to share significant academic progress following the release of the 2026 Arkansas school and district letter grades.

Lamar School District earned an overall B rating, improving from a C and increasing by 43 overall index points. Based on the newly released results, Lamar School District is also the highest-rated school district in Johnson County.

Growth and progress can be seen across each of our schools:

• Lamar High School — B, finishing just 7 points from an A 
• Lamar Middle School — C, with an increase of 21 achievement points 
• Lamar Elementary School — C, improving from a D and finishing just 15 points from a B 

These results are a reflection of the tremendous work taking place throughout Lamar School District. Our students have worked hard, our teachers and staff have remained focused on meeting students where they are, and our administrators have worked alongside their teams to create systems that support continued academic growth.

Over the past year, we have maintained a clear focus on learning, collaboration, and results, and this year's data provides measurable evidence that this work is making a difference.

Across the district, our instructional teams have strengthened Tier 1 classroom instruction, implemented purposeful Tier 2 interventions, utilized WIN Time to provide targeted support, and relied on student data to identify specific areas of need. 

While we are proud of the progress reflected in this year's letter grades, we also recognize that there is more work ahead. These results give us an opportunity not only to celebrate how far we have come, but also to identify where we can continue improving.

Most importantly, this progress belongs to the students, teachers, staff, and families of Lamar School District. Their hard work, commitment, and belief in what our students can accomplish are moving our district forward.

We are proud of the progress. We are encouraged by the momentum. And we remain committed to continuing the work that is producing results for Lamar students.
