Show off your talent! Lamar, Clarksville, Johnson County Westside, and Scranton Schools!
The Lamar Warrior Booster Club is looking for the best voices to engage in a singing competition at 3:00 p.m. April 7, 2012 in the Lamar High School Cafeteria.
This will be a one day competition with groups going by grade as follows:
K-3
4-6
7-9
10-12
There will be small cash prizes, awards, and other merchandise. We will also be having door prize drawings as well for ticket holders who have come to see our singing competition!
A panel of 5 judges, who will take into consideration the audience response to each singer, will select the winner of each division.
Applicant Requirements:
- Must be a student at one of the local schools involved in the competition.
- Must complete the entry form completely by no later than February 25th along with a $15.00 entry fee (checks made payable to LWBC) and you may send money orders as well.
- Must be able to provide backup music on DVD and bring this to the competition with you and have ready to give to the sound tech. Please do not send these through the mail.
- Must arrive at the competition 30 minutes early to make sure we have you as there and to be able to give your music to the sound technician.
Contest Rules:
- All applicants should know that there will be a $20.00 fee charged on all returned checks that are made to LWBC.
- Contestants who do not show up to perform will not get their entry fee refunded.
- Contestants understand that the time, manner and method of judging shall be judged solely within the discretion of the competition officials and the decision of its judges will be final in all cases. No appeals accepted.
- Judges will take the audiences response to each singer in consideration when determining a winner.
- This is a vocal competition and the contestants will be judges on their singing talent only.
- Performances must be family oriented equivalent to a G rating for the public performance. Anything reflecting or exemplifying indecent clothing, vocals, or gestures will be asked to leave the stage and school immediately and will be disqualified.
- Participants must obey all on-site backstage and campus rules including no smoking, no drinking on stage, no bullying.
- No back-up singers, props are allowed for competition. The contestant may have one instrument they can play along with their performance but no bands.
- It is agreed and understood that participants will not hold the Lamar Schools or the Lamar Warrior Booster Club or competition judges or officials liable for any injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them when in attendance and or participating in any phase of the competition. Participants give their permission to LWBC to use their photographs or appearance in video taping in connection with advertising or news coverage of the LWBC Idol competition.
